To assist the Principal with providing an educational atmosphere which promotes student learning, student achievement, student discipline, safety and technology enhancements. Implements School Board policies designed to maintain proper student discipline.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Certification in Educational Leadership, School Principal or Administration and Supervision by the Florida State Department of Education and five (5) years of teaching experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively using written and oral communication skills; ability to use effective interpersonal skills; demonstrated teaching and leadership skills; ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff members, parents, students and the public.

REPORTS TO: School Principal

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.
2. Models the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization and managements tasks.
3. Make periodic tours of campus to ensure that school and school board policies are being enforced.
4. Work closely with the school resource officers, security and safety officers and local law enforcement agencies and make referrals as appropriate.
5. Counsel with students and parents where behavioral problems exist.
6. Assist with the supervision of organized student gatherings and makes sure resources and equipment is available.
7. Coordinate the student lunchroom and work duty assignments.
8. Coordinate school bus supervision before and after school.
9. Investigate problems of a disciplinary nature, document information and report findings and decisions to appropriate individuals.
10. Research and make recommendations for educational technology improvements and enhancements.
11. Provide information to the principal regarding teacher effectiveness in classroom management and classroom assignment.
12. Assist with the supervision of students detained after school hours for disciplinary actions.
13. Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various Technologies are at the level required to perform in current position.
14. Responsible for timely and accurate information they maintain as part of their job responsibilities.
15. Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.

Physical Ability
: Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (l2-20 pounds).

Sensory Requirements: Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds.

Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease or pathogenic substances.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions as set forth in the OCPS Instructional Personnel Evaluation System procedures manual.
