- Be the center (go-to-person) of Converging Technology Group in North America, by synergizing combinations of technologies from multiple disciplines including but not limited to natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and engineering
- Define, explore and create advanced converging technology roadmap, by verifying values of the technologies, and applying the technologies to create customers value and to solve the social issues
- Collaborate within Fujitsu Research teams as well as with Fujitsu affiliated companies, in where the converging technologies can be applied
- Maximize the impact of in-house research and partnership results to the Society
- * Job duties
- Plan and manage research project(s) according to the job purpose; for example,
- Building smart cities powered by Social Digital Twin (Mirror world) with converging technologies
- Tackling climate change with converging technologies
- Augmenting human abilities with converging technologies
- Understanding human social interactions with converging technologies
- Co-lead planned research project(s), by leveraging internal and external resources
- Coordinate industry-academia collaboration, with leading organizations in the specific research areas, by connecting and aligning with research universities and research institutes, such as CMU, Stanford, UCB, etc.
- Participate, present, be a panelist and investigate in related industry and academia events (symposium, summit, seminar, webinar, tradeshow, etc.) locally and internationally
- Conduct proof of values (PoV)
- Exploring adequate use cases and conducting proof of value and experiments at the appropriate locations and occasions
- Commercialize the technologies based on market values in collaboration with Fujitsu business units and affiliated companies
Qualifications:
- * Skill/Qualification
- Strategic planning experience ideally gained from a spectrum of business experience
- Experience in a wide range of technical areas, ideally having worked previously in a R&D environment
- Ability to think strategically and act pragmatically with the ability to leverage expertise and make an impact
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with technical and business communities
- Research and Development / IT Strategy / Product Development / Product Management / Go-To-Market Strategy / Sales Enablement / Market Analysis / Business Process
