A Lead Biologist is needed to provide the following support. Individual should be capable of overseeing the work of biologists in a matrix-ed team environment. Focus is placed on attention to detail, maintenance of accurate records in appropriate formats, sound knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols, and excellent management and communication skills. Prior work under Select Agent registration is preferred. Prior experience working in containment (BSL-3) is strongly preferred. The incumbent complies with all ATCC corporate policies and procedures.
Demonstrates laboratory skills and safety procedures including proper handling of chemicals and/or biologics, use of aseptic technique. Performs viability assessments on biological materials, appropriate authentication/characterization procedures for biological materials. Prepares and/or propagates biological materials. Records data in appropriate format with digitized data management systems, to include translation of data in notebooks, batch records, or advanced databases. Monitors laboratory equipment and reports issues if equipment is not functioning within appropriate specifications. Communicates progress on tasks and offers insight for on-time deliverables. Demonstrates advanced computer skills, including ability to support technology transfer between systems. Provides guidance to biologists and senior biologists and reports operationally to an on-site Program Manager. Other ancillary duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a science related field and 7+ years of relevant experience OR
- Master's degree in a science related field and 5+ years of relevant experience
- Laboratory supervisory experience required.
- Virology background strongly preferred.

- Advance computer skills including expertise in the appropriate fields of ATCC's ERP system.
