Lab Manager (Molecular Biology) - NIH - Bethesda, MD

We are seeking an individual to work as a Molecular Biology Lab Manager at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:

(1) Support a lab that uses molecular biology techniques, including microscopy and optogenetics, to investigate fundamental developmental biology questions such as how signaling molecules move to target cells and how multiple signaling pathways cooperate to pattern complex bodies

(2) Provide general molecular biology support (e.g., cloning, minipreps, etc.)

(3) Maintain wild type and mutant zebrafish stocks

(4) Coordinate zebrafish import and export

(5) Order supplies and receive packages

(6) Coordinate equipment maintenance

(7) Help onboard new lab members

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

(1) Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field

(2) Four (4) years of experience in molecular biology

(3) Molecular biology benchwork expertise (e.g., PCR, gel electrophoresis, etc.)

(4) Prior experience in a zebrafish lab is helpful but not required

(5) Excellent verbal and written communication skills

(6) Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
