Position Focus:

Since it was created over a decade ago to be the home of the joint degree community between the School of Management and the School of the Environment, The Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY) has also been a center of innovation in programming in clean energy topics and a place for students, faculty, staff, and the public to connect at Yale University. As COVID19 put a strain on our community and sense of connectedness, we now seek to more meaningfully connect our work to the rest of the University. A plethora of clean energy programming happens elsewhere at Yale, and we're looking for an energetic individual who will help us connect our community to other schools, departments, and units, so that we all benefit from each other's programming, catalyze climate action, better communicate our impact, and share our resources widely.

The main goals of this position are to:

Deepen Yale's impact and brand in the field of clean energy and improve the student experience.
Unearth opportunities for research, teaching, and programming through cross-school collaboration and innovation by creating a Yale-wide Clean Energy Initiative led by schools and departments.
Support the development and integration of systems that allow for better communication across groups on campus while respecting the differences between groups in our community.
Foster the broadening of an engaged community of informed actors who can accelerate the clean energy transition on-campus and online.

The Clean Energy Coordinator will: lead the design, development, and implementation of the processes and systems that will connect clean energy programming within the Yale School of the Environment and the Yale School of Management (center-based programming, learning communities, student interest groups and clubs, research labs, career development offices, alumni offices, faculty, etc.), the undergraduate community (particularly the Yale Undergraduate Energy Scholars within the Earth and Planetary Sciences department, the Yale Undergraduate Environmental Studies program, and relevant student groups), and other professional or graduate schools, labs, initiatives, and programs in the field of clean energy.

The Clean Energy Coordinator will also coordinate with other Yale groups to produce or publicize content, events, and opportunities and generally contribute to creating a holistic approach to clean energy programming at CBEY and across Yale, and support the promotion of the Financing and Deploying Clean Energy program as needed.
