We are the Biotechnology Discovery Research Division at LBC-San Diego, responsible for generating, characterizing, and optimizing biotherapeutics from lead generation through lead optimization and preclinical development. Individuals on our team support cross-disciplinary efforts to engineer innovative biotherapeutics that treat metabolic, autoimmune, and neurologic diseases. The Protein Biosciences Group at the Lilly Biotechnology Center-San Diego is seeking an associate level scientist specializing in molecular biology to join the Mammalian Protein Expression Team. We are looking for a hardworking scientist who is organized, detail-oriented and passionate about research. Do you have an in depth understanding and experience in molecular biology techniques to execute custom cloning project? Join our team and grow in your career!

Skills needed in this role:
Hands on experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, restriction enzyme and recombination-based cloning, plasmid DNA generation, sequence analysis. Design and execution of DNA assembly using strategies such as Gibson and InFusion.Proficiency in scientific software used to design and analyze DNA sequence dataMaintain accurate record keeping and report data in written and oral formats.Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, data analysis and record keeping skills with strong attention to detail.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in biochemical sciences (biology, molecular biology, or similar field) with at least 1 year of relevant experience

Additional Skills/Preferences:
Experience with RNA purification, qPCR, gene manipulation techniques such as siRNA, miRNA, AAV transduction and CRISPR/Cas9 will be considered a plusSome knowledge and experience in the area of pre-mRNA splicing and state-of-the-art techniques such as, NGS and RNA seqDemonstrate proactive and flexible behaviors and develop skills for proficiency in conducting independent research projects
