Lilly Immunology Discovery is dedicated to identifying novel therapeutics to treat the myriad of autoimmune diseases impacting patients around the globe. We are currently seeking a motivated biologist to work as an integral part of our immunology in vivo pharmacology group. The main responsibility of this group is to develop and validate disease models of inflammation and autoimmunity for the interrogation of novel therapeutics. Located at the Lilly Biotechnology Center in San Diego, our pharmacology group supports projects directed both in San Diego and the Corporate Center in Indianapolis.
We're looking for a scientist with experience in the development of small animal models of inflammation and conducting in vivo efficacy studies according to study protocols. The candidate will lead all aspects of the in-life portions of studies and be involved in post study sample processing and data analysis. In addition, this role will contribute to completion of in vitro assays needed for the study tissue samples. We work in a team environment collaborating in unity with other members of the pharmacology group and various immunology members. Some responsibilities in this role include:
Planning and technical aspects of in vivo experiments in collaboration with the pharmacology team:Analyze and graph data for review.Perform ELISAs (or similar platform) on study samples.Organize data and present findings at team meetings.

Bachelor degree in biology, immunology, veterinary sciences or related area with 2 or more years of relevant experience.
Skilled in dose formulation, animal handling, dosing (PO, IP, SC, ID, IV), blood collection, animal surgery, and tissue collection/processing.Experienced using Excel and GraphPad Prism for analysis and statisticsDiligent record keeping.Able to perform basic in vitro techniques such as ELISA based analysis platforms.Experience with cell culture techniques, molecular biology (e.g. RNA isolation, RT-PCR), immunohistochemistryFamiliarity with FACS analysis and FloJoAbility to design, analyze, and interpret study resultsGood organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to present results
