PayPal currently has an opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) senior program manager. Reporting to the Senior Director of Governance, Technology and Safety, the ideal candidate is an experienced EHS professional who, working with minimal supervision, applies established EHS, ergonomics and fire safety principles, practices, regulations, and internal standards, interacts with other teams within the company as well as outside agencies when required. The successful candidate has previous EHS management and international experience and is solutions-minded in planning, directing, and completing EHS assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Promote PayPal's EHS programs across the globe, using and adjusting documented procedures with local policies and procedures and update as needed to meet local regulatory requirements;
  • Ensure PayPal meets all EHS regulatory and corporate compliance requirements through assessing existing or emerging EHS laws, regulations, and industry practices globally, both proactively and through an existing assessment and review program;
  • As a member of the EHS team, lead management of an ISO 14001 program as well as contribute to workplace health and safety goals;
  • Develop and execute EHS strategies and solutions to support requirements across various workplace settings;
  • Collaborate across PayPal to provide EHS expertise to business-critical programs and as a subject matter expert when needed for EHS matters;
  • Participate in the review of design for business acquisitions or major revisions of existing facilities to assure proper EHS considerations are in place including fire/life safety;
  • Conduct investigations of existing and potential safety and health hazards, make recommendations for corrective measures and mange review of EHS incident investigations to determine and implement root cause corrective actions;
  • Lead the ergonomics program through the local teams and external service providers;
  • Manage and report on EHS metrics and review for improvement or corrective measures;
  • Strong listening and influencing skills while having the EHS technical expertise to advise and consult at all levels in the organization;
  • Manage regulatory agency and external stakeholder EHS, ergonomics and fire safety activities, including reporting, visits, or inspections; and
  • Provide support to PayPal's Environmental Sustainability team where requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent experience). MS degree and EHS professional membership, registration and/or certification from an accredited organization in one or more of the following areas: safety engineering or industrial hygiene a plus;
  • 8 - 10+ years of increasing responsibilities in environmental, health and safety programs;
  • 8 - 10+ years supervisory/management experience required;
  • Background in fire/life safety and ergonomics a plus;
  • Background in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar accredited EHS management systems;
  • Experience in interaction with multiple site environments and managing direct reports;
  • Strong sense of urgency to solve problems;
  • Experience prioritizing and managing multiple & technical assignments concurrently;
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across various teams with competing priorities to reach a desired outcome;
  • Proven ability to communicate, collaborate and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders on matters having significant business impact;
