Environmental Wet Chemistry Lab Technicians - SW Houston, TX

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently recruiting candidates for 2 Wet Chemistry Lab Technician positions at an Environmental Lab in SW Houston. Following established SOP's, this position performs basic wet chemistry tests on drinking water and wastewater including pH, digestions, alkalinities, etc. and reports data related to the identity, content, and purity of the samples. Ideal candidates will be detailed oriented and highly organized, be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a general understanding of Wet Chemistry concepts.

*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:*

* Prepare necessary standards, solutions, reagents, media, etc. required for sample analyses

* Perform equipment and instrumentation set up, and operate basic and specialized laboratory instrumentation

* Prepare and analyze samples

* Accurately record observations and data and interpret results

* Monitor and address sample backlog issues

* Maintain accurate, up to date logs, notebooks and equipment records

* Perform necessary laboratory administrative functions such as filing paperwork, photocopying, reviewing of data, and entering data into computerized LIMS

* Comply with and promote Safety and Quality Programs

*REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:*

* Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field of study is desired

* Previous water testing experience is a plus but not required

* Basic to advanced understanding of fundamentals of laboratory science and laboratory processes and procedures

* Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation

* Ability to read and apply established protocols and SOP's to daily operations

* Ability to manage personal work functions in order to keep up with sample hold times, customer turnaround times and workflow

These are temp to hire positions with a Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, work schedule. Pay rate range is $13-14 per hour. This is an immediate need for our customer so if you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume for immediate consideration.
