POSITION SUMMARY:

Direct the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program. Provide strategic leadership, counsel, collaboration, and support to meet the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local laws, industry standards, customer specifications, and Company specifications applicable to environmental, health and safety initiatives.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Manage, prepare, oversee implementation, maintain, and update the Hyosung HICO's EH&S Program. Develop appropriate company-wide procedures, practices and training, as required.
• Develop EH&S Targets, Objectives, & Programs. Monitor progress toward completion of objectives; document progress on quarterly basis.
• Establish, coordinate, manage, and/or participate in internal EH&S audits. Assure adequacy & implementation of responses; confirm effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead safety risk assessments. Document results & implement practices and/or new or modified Hyosung HICO procedures to address hazards and risks & minimize their impact(s) on Hyosung HICO personnel in collaboration with Human Resources and Operations leadership, and effectively communicate and garner buy-in for same.
• Maintain Hyosung HICO state & local EH&S permits, including required tests, inspections, & reporting. Obtain new & revised permits as needed.
• Manage and work closely with leadership and other personnel to assure Hyosung HICO compliance with Hyosung HICO requirements and applicable EH&S federal, state and local regulations and requirements.
• Stay current with upcoming EH&S regulations or revisions, to facilitate smooth implementation within Hyosung HICO.
• Lead Safety Committee meeting and develop strong communication programs and buy-in for safety commitments across the team.
• Manage? investigations (major & minor incidents) of Hyosung HICO EH&S events & accidents. Provide feedback on appropriate corrective and preventive actions, in accordance with applicable Hyosung HICO procedures. Determine any appropriate follow-up measures and ensure follow-up on all investigations as required.
• Manage/contribute to employee EH&S training & orientation, & emergency drills.
• Act as company Environmental Management System (EMS) Coordinator for ISO-9001 program. Maintain ISO-9001certification of Hyosung HICO's EMS programs.
• Prepare monthly status and performance reports.
• Support and assist the Human Resources Manager and HR Team as needed.
• Understand and work under the direction of the appropriate Hyosung HICO policy and/or procedure.

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

• Bachelor's Degree in safety, environmental or related technical field of engineering, plus 8-10 years relevant experience in environmental, health or safety functions with manufacturing companies and p revious supervisory experience , or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, strong program development and implementation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and preferred project management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of broad-based EH&S programs and an understanding of the underlying philosophy .
• Developed knowledge of EH&S field concepts, practices and procedures.
• Advanced computer skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
