Description
Summary:
Seagen is seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and technically skilled Research Associate to advance our efforts to evaluate efficacy of novel oncology therapeutics and develop rodent disease models. The successful candidate will become an integral member of the Comparative Biology team within Nonclinical Sciences and contribute independently to projects with the goal of identifying the most effective drugs to advance from early discovery to clinical drug development.

Principal Responsibilities:
Independently plan, coordinate, execute, and analyze results of complex pharmacology studies in rodent oncologymodels
Understand project strategy, drive key components forward, and propose new experiments or methods to further advance theproject
Advise and consult with research staff across multiple groups on the optimal study design and technical procedures to meet projectgoals
Interact with colleagues in the Comparative Biology team and in cross-functional teams to coordinate intra-group and inter-group study planning andexecution
Implement novel animal models to address researchquestions
Design and conductin vitroandex-vivoexperiments to understand the mechanism of action of therapeuticcandidates
Develop/implement operational strategies to standardize workflow and increasethroughput
Provide regular data updates and present experimental findings at internal and externalmeetings
Author sections of study reports, manuscripts, or posters
Maintain meticulous laboratory records, electronic files, and laboratory notebooks to support experimentalstudies

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years (B.S.) or 3+ years (MS) technical working with rodent models in a biology/biomedical (or similar) research laboratory
High level of expertise in mouse and rat procedures including tumor implantation, tumor growth monitoring, dosing (IP, IV, PO, SC,etc), aseptic surgery, and blood and tissue collection, handling, andprocessing
Experience with mammalian cell culture establishment and expansion
Understanding of concepts and principles of molecular, cellular, cancer, and immune biology.
Familiarity with database software (e.g., Access), data analysis programs (e.g., Excel, Prism, or Spotfire), and presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint)
Ability to troubleshoot, interpret, and summarize scientific data in an accurate, critical, and concisemanner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally andcollaboratively
Excellent organization and ability to handle multiple tasks andprioritize

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with implementing advanced, clinically relevant, rodent oncology models.
Experience with collaborative workflow coordination and project management
Experience with design/implementation of software for data collection and/or workflow management
