JOB TITLE BIOLOGY SCIENTIST 2

LOCATION - SAN DIEGO, CA

DURATION 12+ MONTHS CONTRACT

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: CONTRACT ON W2 (NEED US CITIZENS OR GC HOLDERS ONLY)

DESCRIPTION:

At least 6 months of flow cytometry experience required.

Do not submit candidates previously submitted to CFNJP or CFNJP

Responsible for research, development, and manufacturing of custom products and services in the Custom Technology Team. Makes detailed observations, analyzes data and

interprets results. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgement within generally defined

procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results. Receives no instructions on routine tasks, general instructions on new assignments. May

provide guidance to lower level personnel within the department. Direction is both verbal and written.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the execution of experiments of diverse complexity within a defined project framework.

- Exercises judgement within generally defined procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results.

- Prepares protocols for experiments of moderate complexity under supervision.

- Prepare technical reports, summaries and quantitative analyses of assigned research projects.

- Tabulates and analyzes experimental data for all phases of a project utilizing statistical programs.

- Investigates and contributes to development, new methods and technologies for project and process advancement.

- Develops working knowledge of current scientific literature, and state-of-the-art technologies, theories and principles in own area of scientific discipline.

- May act as team member on research projects.

- May provide guidance to lower level personnel.

- Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements.

- Promote a safe work environment. May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment. Participates in Environmental, Health & Safety

programs. Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified. Notifies supervisor and Safety Officer(s) of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work

practices.

- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Demonstrated success in executing a defined research project or in process improvement or invention or fundamental knowledge in own area of scientific discipline.

- Successful execution of a protocol-specified investigation of simple complexity.

- Practical knowledge of operation of laboratory instrumentation and applicable computer software.

- Effective interpersonal skills.

- Effective written and oral communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.

- Demonstrated ability to keep neat, accurate, and complete records and logs.

- Effective analytical and problem solving skills.

Education and Experience

- Requires a Bachelors degree in a related scientific discipline or equivalent combination of related education and experience. Typically requires a minimum of 1-3 years

related experience in an industrial or research laboratory with a Bachelors or minimum 0 to 2 years related experience in an industrial or research laboratory with a Masters.

Demonstrate working knowledge of scientific principles.
