Faze Medicines is looking for an exceptional individual to help grow our company's computational biology capabilities. The candidate will collaborate with world class research scientists to design and execute high-dimensional analyses in target identification, disease biology, and patient stratification. The successful candidate will be an experienced biologist, preferably with expertise in genetic or complex disease as well as extensive computational knowledge and a track record of working collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

In this role, you may:


    • Design and execute analyses leveraging heterogeneous data types to generate novel and actionable insights

    • Work with wet-lab colleagues to design experiments that are critical to the continued and future success of Faze

    • Develop new tools and pipelines for analyzing and sharing results derived from large datasets and high-content imaging

    • Collaborate with lab scientists as a project team member





Ideal qualifications:


    • MS+3 years or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics or a quantitative discipline. Industry or post-grad experience preferred but not required.

    • Strong understanding of cellular and molecular biology with extensive experience in a wide range of sequencing technologies including next generation sequencing

    • Strong understanding of genetics and/or functional genomics or proteomics

    • Deep, practical understanding of statistics

    • Demonstrated practical expertise with computational and bioinformatics technologies, algorithms and techniques

    • Experience working with public data sets such as TCGA, UK Biobank, TOPMed, MVP

    • Proficient programming skills and computational analysis background. Experience with R/Bioconductor or Python/pandas/scipy is desirable

    • Ability to apply and develop tools for integrative analysis and visualization of multi-dimensional datasets, integrating biochemical, cellular and genomic data using appropriate statistical methods to drive drug discovery projects

    • Ability to work effectively with internal and external collaborators to funnel emerging genomics discoveries to guide internal programs and identify partners/consultants to complement internal bioinformatics efforts

    • Sustained track record of productivity demonstrating direct impact on drug research and development and/or high impact publications

    • xperience with cloud computing a plus
