Molecular and Cell Biology Postdoc
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Molecular and Cell Biology Postdoc, are to:
- Establish protocols and strategies for cell and nuclei preparation from plant tissues;
- Generate single cell and single nuclei sequencing libraries;
- Have primary or shared project responsibility of a complex nature;
- Conduct research and contribute to research projects, technologies, publications or intellectual property;
- Solve complex problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning and the application of scientific principles to the design and interpretation of scientific experiments;
- Lead workflow optimization and method validation projects using multiple data sources;
- Use specialized knowledge, the broad application of scientific principles, current literature when identifying and implementing improvements;
- Adhere to established protocols and techniques;
- Operate and troubleshoot instrumentation;
- Solve problems autonomously using multiple data sources;
- Maintain detailed record keeping and required documentation;
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices;
- Communicate and interpret the results of experiments to partners and key stakeholders;
- Thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem solving skills and possess the ability to build productive external and internal relationships;
- Take initiative in keeping current with literature in areas of assignment and in areas of professional interest.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science with at least five years of relevant experience or Master of Science with at least two years of relevant experience or Ph.D. with at least one year of relevant experience;
- Strong cell and molecular biology acumen with the ability to independently design experiments and analyze data;
- Demonstrated record of innovation in research;
- Ability to learn and apply new concepts and techniques at rapid rate.
- This role has a limited duration. May 2022
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands on experience in nuclei or cell preparations from plants or insects or prior experience in cell sorting techniques;
- Next-generation-sequencing transcriptomics experience or experimentation familiarity;
- Experience working in highly collaborative environment and can communicate with audiences from diverse technical background;
