The Department of Engineering Systems and Environment at the University of Virginia is seeking a Research Associate (Postdoctoral level) to work under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan Goodall. The successful candidate will assist in hydroinformatics research.
Duties will include computational modeling of hydrologic systems, software development, project management, and presenting research results as journal papers and conference presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD in Civil Engineering or closely related field at the time of appointment, experience in hydrologic modeling (preferably TUFLOW), computer programming using Python, and publishing research results in top peer reviewed journals and conferences are required. Experience with source code repository hosting services like GitHub, other programming languages besides Python, and machine techniques learning is preferred.
