What Do You Get To Do In This Position:
- Life cycle project management for moderate- to large-sized projects and/or major tasks of larger projects/programs. This work includes: proposal writing; cost preparation; confirmation of contractual obligations being met; coordinating and tracking of assignments, scopes, schedules, budgets and deliverables; technical writing; technical direction to staff; client communications; and QA/QC on project work and communications.
- Serve as Rincon's primary project point of contact for the client and regulatory agencies.
- Business development activities and deliverables: client outreach; client interviews; and presentations.
- Field work management and deliverables: conduct, or delegate and oversee, fieldwork necessary to complete biological documentation for projects; travel (with overnight stays) when needed; manage preparation of high-quality technical studies, environmental documents, and other deliverables.
- Prepare, or delegate and oversee, high-quality technical studies, environmental documents and other deliverables, including but not limited to Biological Resources Assessments, biological sections of CEQA and/or NEPA documents, Jurisdictional Delineations, Habitat Mitigation and Monitoring Plans, and permit application packages.
- Work is largely completed independently with occasional general direction
This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or equivalent and at least 2-5 years of relevant consulting experience. Master's degree in same fields preferred.
- Doctoral degree in Biology with 3.5 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstration of past or current success in supervising employees, being solution-orientated, and fostering positive relationships with staff, clients, agencies, and sub-consultants.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in at least 2 of the following areas:
- Biological resources assessment
- Species surveys
- Wetland delineations & jurisdictional determinations
- Regulatory permitting
- Regulatory compliance oversight and monitoring
- Restoration, habitat management, mitigation monitoring
- Utility/energy project experience is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication, planning, budgeting, writing, and organizational skills
- Strong business acumen and customer service skills
- Positive attitude and eager to streamline and improve process and workflows
- Highly motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Detail-oriented, resourceful, strong time management skills, and innovative
