This position is expected to begin in July 2021.

About DCS-Environment

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM's global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals - to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to :
  • Compiling and evaluating site-related geological, geophysical, hydrogeologic and environmental data.
  • Preparing detailed geologic cross sections and reports.
  • Miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Minimum Requirements
  • Currently in pursuit of a BS or MS in Geology, preferably with an emphasis in Stratigraphy and must have completed 3 years of qualified study
  • Due to the nature of work performed, US citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework in sedimentology/stratigraphy and stratigraphic data interpretation
  • An understanding of Sequence Stratigraphy
  • Ability to thrive in a project team environment comprised of AECOM staff
  • Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects
  • Possess a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with specialized software (e.g., Rockworks, EVS, ModFlow, CADD, GIS, Adobe Illustrator) and building complex databases, a plus
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
