Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work in General Motor's premiere battery facility, Ultium. As an Environmental Leader, you will design and implement environmental programs that allow you to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to manage environmental compliance and conformance. We are currently looking for talented individuals who have a passion for the environment and who want to assist making Ultium Cells a leader in environmental compliance and sustainability.

Electricity is the future of transportation, powered by battery cells that are designed and manufactured by some of the brightest, most innovative people in the world. Ultium Cells is committed to using the most technologically advanced methods in the industry to produce the very best of those battery cells, now and for generations to come. But we need a team of forward-thinking folks with diverse skills and experiences to achieve that vision.   • Responsible for developing/maintaining/supporting robust and consistent environmental stewardship program strategies in support of GM's mission to deliver sustainable solutions that improve the communities in which we live and work.
  • Experienced in at least one of the main environmental programs (air permits and regulation, water permits and regulations, or waste regulations)
  • Engages with Domain Experts as necessary to ensure continual improvement and support new program/project implementation.
  • Key collaboration with plant management and employees, FAMs, regulatory agencies, internal and external community leaders and members, legal staff, GM and external audit services, utility service provides (WWTP & PH), Project Planning teams at sites & HQ, domain experts and chemical and resource management business partners.

Qualifications

Abilities:

Skills:
  • Proficient in Air Permitting, Storm Water Permitting, Wastewater Pretreatment Permitting and/or Large Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements.

Experience:
  • Experience in environmental engineering or related science, preferably at a manufacturing operation.
  • Basic knowledge of the automotive manufacturing processes is preferred.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in engineering or related sciences with emphasis on environmental engineering required.
  • Demonstration in continuous education preferred
