Our Client - A growing food plant is looking for a Manager - Health, Safety and Environmental for a
permanent, full-time position in WI. Excellent Salary + Bonus + Relocation + full Benefits

Location: Boyceville, WI Travel: 10%

Compensation: Salary of $80K - $100K + 10 % Target Bonus

Company Info: This company is part of a Global food Group of companies with annual sales of $17+
Billion

This is at their US Manufacturing plant with 70 people producing Yeast Extract flavors and related
Food Ingredients. The manufacturing unit operations include Formulations, Mixing, Spray Dryers to
convert liquid to powder form, drying and bulk packaging for business to business wholesale
customers working 24 * 7 in 4 shifts.

Group Info: This is a senior manager level role, with no direct reports.

Note 1: This is a small plant. The right person will wear multiple hats and perform various duties

Summary:

* Direct Environmental health and safety programs for the plant.

* Serve as an employee resource for HSE compliance inquiries and requirements.

* Familiar with relevant process technologies and appropriate industry and government
regulations regarding health and safety as related to products produced.

* Make appropriate provisions in regards to job duties in case of absence, duties to be handled
and delegated by Production Manager.

Job Description:

Safety

* Develop, implement and manage plant Safety Program.
* Establish and lead company safety culture and awareness.
* Manage 3rd party safety audits.
* Orchestrate annual safety training with site management. Maintain required records to ensure
employee training is up to date and compliant with OSHA standards.
* Compile and report monthly data as required for ABFi HSE reporting (both sites).
* Compile data for annual ABFI safety report.
* Track and log monthly KPI safety data.
* Obtain OSHA Outreach certification in accordance with 29CFR 1910 federal regulations and as
approved by National Safety Council in order to provide OSHA 10 and 30 hour training to line
management and other staff as necessary.
* Provide interpretations of OSHA 29CFR 1919 federal safety regulations for manufacturing
facilities.
* Update plant Safety Roadmap. Actively participate in program developments.
* Responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
* Direct plant safety program including but not limited to monthly safety meetings, Flash
Audits, Near Misses, weekly toolbox meetings and monthly safety inspections.

Government Regulations

* Establish and maintain a database of HSE contacts.
* Stay abreast of pending legislation that requires planning and implementation prior to
enactment dates.

Environmental

* Key liaison between safety regulatory agencies, site production managers and senior management.
* Process Safety Management and Risk Management for hazardous chemicals are areas in which the
incumbent acts a liaison with regulatory and company personnel. Ensure programs are current and
compliant.

Quality Assurance

* Provide support to the Quality Department for audits, compliance and crisis management (product
recalls/pathogenic contamination), environmental situations and etc.

Process Technology

* Serve as technical liaison between regarding HSE processing requirements, i.e. pasteurization,
low acid food, irradiation, etc.
* Serve as liaison to HSE agencies.
* Provide technical HSE support for the development of new products.
* Liaise with R&D team to ensure HSE aspects of new product development are given timely
consideration.

Job Requirements:

Candidate Must Have:

* Bachelor's degree in microbiology, food science or related area preferred.
* 8+ years' experience in the Food Industry
* 5+ years' experience with Environmental, Health and Safety - SHE
* Particularly strong interpersonal skills.
* Comprehensive computer plus oral and written skills.
* Good interdepartmental relations.
* Regulatory compliance knowledge in GMP, HACCP, EPA, FDA, USDA. and FSIS.

Candidate Nice to Have:

* HACCP Certification from nationally recognized and accredited organization.
* Experience with spray drying processes, dairy processes, & related utilities equipment
* Working knowledge of process safety concepts, particularly with explosion protection and fire
protection.
