The Biology group of the Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC) is looking for a R&D Specialist highly skilled in molecular and cellular biology and immunology. You will be responsible to research projects aiming at the understanding of the mechanistic features of the associations between RGC-identified human gene variants and inflammatory diseases via in vivo and in vitro studies. This work will support the pre-therapeutic pipeline and the target development platforms of THIS ROLE, A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING:

* Apply current state of the art molecular cloning techniques to construct targeting and expression vectors; in vitro engineering of reporter cell lines for characterization of genetic variants; perform transfections/infections, RNA interference and genome editing; dive into mechanistic studies through qRT-PCR and protein techniques such as Western blots and ELISAs, kinase and uptake assays.

* Work with primary cell and organoid cultures and pharmacological treatments.

* Develop new methods and apply troubleshooting tactics when needed.

* Design, execute, and analyze experiments with minimal supervision

* Execute in vivo experiments using mouse models.

To be considered for the role, you must have a Master's degree and 3 years' experience or Bachelor's degree in related field and 5 years of hands-on experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques (including DNA cloning, PCR, sequence analysis, protein expression and purification, and western blotting). Experience with primary cell culture and /or organoids and cell-based assays. Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, highly desired. Proficiency with microscopy, imaging technologies; FACS, a plus. Experience with mouse experimentation.
