As Dynapower's EHS Engineer, you champion all aspects of Environment, Health and Safety. You're responsible for the full cycle of ensuring the safety of our employees, from developing and planning to implementing and maintaining our environmental, health and safety programs. You use your leadership and communication skills to ensure the changes you want to implement are effectively adopted throughout the organization. Safety always comes first, and you apply your technical expertise and skills to continuously improving our processes and programs to maintain those maximum levels of safety.

On an average day, you'll
  • Serve as Safety Champion, subject matter expert and resource
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of hazardous materials procedures and policies
  • Plan, develop, and implement safety, ergonomic and environmental training for new and existing employees.
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
  • Schedule and perform internal audits related to all aspects of EH&S, using ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 as the primary guides
  • Ensure compliance to all federal, state, local laws, regulations, rules and codes including, but not limited to, EPA, OSHA, VOSHA, Cal/OSHA, NFPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RECRA), Community Right to Know Act, National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants, Title V Air permitting, stormwater permitting, and hazardous waste permitting
  • Assist in the development of controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries


Required Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related science or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience leading safety, environmental and health management and compliance
  • Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, VOSHA, Cal/OSHA, NFPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RECRA), Community Right To Know Act, National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants, Title V Air permitting, stormwater permitting, and hazardous waste permitting

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and 45001 or equivalent
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing

This is a full-time exempt position, Monday through Friday. This position requires periodic evening and weekend work. It is based in South Burlington, Vermont. This position operates in both a professional office environment and manufacturing environment. Occasional domestic and/or international trips to manufacturing plants for observation, research or customer visits are likely to be required.
