The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our Boeing Global Services Infrastructure Support Services (ISS) Program. This position is located in Springfield, Virginia and Chantilly, Virginia.
This is a critical hire that requires interface with both Program Leadership and the US Government customer at a classified site. You will lead critical environmental regulatory compliance programs and Safety Programs to meet company committed Safety goals. You will also interface with Program Leadership and the customer.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops and document comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management systems
- Leads interface with regulatory agencies
- Conducts information exchanges to improve EHS processes
- Evaluates new technologies and processes to develop strategies and tactics for reducing workplace hazards and environmental impacts
- Develops education and training materials to support regulatory and business requirements
- Directs vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals
- Leads program reviews, investigates incidents and provides corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of incident
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Technical Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD degree? (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study).
- 5+ years experience managing compliance programs for health and safety systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Certified Industrial Hygienist
- Certified Safety Professional
- Certified Associate Safety Professional
- Experience leading a team or projects
- Direct customer and regulatory agency interface
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
