What You Will Do
Los Alamos National Laboratory invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the Bioenergy and Biome Sciences Group (B-11) of the Bioscience Division.
A postdoctoral position is available in the DOE BER Terrestrial Microbial Carbon Science Focus Area. This research program focuses on microbial carbon cycling and climate feedbacks in terrestrial ecosystems (https://www.lanl.gov/science-innovation/science-programs/office-of-science-programs/biological-environmental-research/sfa-microbial-carbon.php). The program uses meta-'omic strategies to investigate how natural variation in microbial composition can drive large, persistent variation in carbon flow from plant litter decomposition. The successful candidate will create and apply bioinformatic tools that link microbial composition (amplicon, metagenomic, metatranscriptomic) and ecosystem function.
Successful candidates will work closely with a team of Ph.D. staff scientists, postdoctoral researchers, technicians, and external collaborators.
