AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Scientist for employment in the Honolulu, HI office.

This position is expected to begin in July 2021.

This position will include a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. You will gain experience in your discipline through learning on the job and participate in development opportunities during the program, including access to AECOM's social media resources, group mentoring, and professional networking. The program also has learning activities that will be available to you, including webinars and on-line programs.

About DCS-Environment

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM's global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals - to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Utilizing basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
  • Collecting and entering data and applies technical principles and theories.
  • Interpreting and recording data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

Minimum Requirements
  • BS in environmental science, chemistry, geology, and environmental engineering
  • Required to intermittently drive company or rental vehicles for work
  • US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites
  • Must successfully pass preemployment background check and drug screening
  • Ability to successfully obtain DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations

Preferred Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of related work experience
  • Master's Degree a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Arc GIS
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
