The Environmental Scientist will contribute to a technically diverse team that provides on-site consultative support at client facilities. The successful candidate works independently to perform assignments, developing high quality deliverable products with limited instruction or oversight, and is comfortable working with multiple client customers.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provides task and project management services for remediation projects
- Leads and is engaged as a team member for various field projects
- Provides technical guidance related to RCRA (40CFR) and Michigan Part 111 and Part 201of 1994 PA 451 administrative rules
- Evaluates and responds to client phone calls, e-mail and inquiries about environmental regulation applicability
- Responsible for quality control of all work products and products of technical and administrative staff assigned
- Provides general support and direction to more junior-level employees on routine assignments
- Provides technical peer review for data validation reports and other routine tasks and deliverables
- Supports marketing initiatives directed to customer service needs
- Actively participates in maintaining a safe work environment and supporting a culture of safety as evidenced in approach to daily activities and projects

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 4+ years' experience in the environment industry or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position are required to pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and be included in client required random drug testing program
- Must possess valid Driver's license
- Due to the nature of the work, United States Citizenship or Naturalized Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Project experience with Michigan regulations, policy, and guidance related to vapor intrusion
- Knowledgeable of state and federal environmental regulatory framework and processes, specifically RCRA
- Familiar with groundwater, surface water, soil, soil-gas sampling methodologies
- Ability to communicate verbally and in written form to impart technical information and interact with clients and regulatory personnel
- Familiarity with RCRA (40CFR) and Michigan Part 111 and Part 201of 1994 PA 451 administrative rules
- Effective time management and analytical skills
- Be responsive and have schedule flexibility based on project needs
- Project experience with remediation investigation activities
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certified
