Roswell Biotechnologies is a venture backed start-up transforming DNA sequencing with our molecular electronics sequencing platform designed to deliver the disruptive performance required for precision medicine. The platform technology, ENDSeq™ (Electronic Nano-Device Sequencing), deploys single molecule sensor nanotechnology in a scalable semiconductor chip format, to deliver a dramatic reduction in the cost of genome-sequencing with unprecedented speed, accuracy and simplicity. Roswell is focused on delivering the molecular electronics chip and system that provides a $100, 1-hour whole human genome sequence. Roswell's leadership has unmatched experience in developing high-impact, high-tech devices for the Life Sciences, and bringing them to market globally. Our goals are big, our timelines are short, and we are building the team that will make it happen.

The RA - Sr. RA will support R&D research, working on molecular biology techniques, including NGS and lower-throughput sequencing, library preparation, mutagenesis, and cloning techniques. Strong candidates will have comprehensive experience in various molecular biology techniques (PCR, mutagenesis, construct design, cloning) to generate DNA constructs for sequencing and enzyme assays. Familiarity with single molecule DNA sequencing, will be a big plus. The ideal candidate can thrive in an extremely fast paced, dynamic environment, as part of a team of highly skilled, highly focused, and highly motivated people who believe in changing the world by creating a truly disruptive technology.

Specific responsibilities include:

* Experience in nucleic acid analysis methodologies, including, but not limited to PCR, qPCR, microarray, or next-generation sequencing. Experience in protein purification, HPLC, FPLC.
* Designing and conducting experiments around molecular biology work related to NGS and lower-throughput sequencing, library preparation, PCR, cloning, gene modification, and associated molecular biology techniques.
* Using a variety of software tools to design, engineer, clone/subclone target genes for a range of applications.
* Working cross functionally with our biosensor areas to design constructs to generate DNA or protein reagents.
* Assisting in applying enzyme engineering, and assay development.
* Documenting experimental procedures and results in lab notebooks.
* Compiling experimental results and presenting them at company meetings.
* Maintaining a well-organized, clean, and safe lab working environment.

Qualifications:

* B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field required.
* Experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR required; sequencing and automation experience preferred.
* Excellent written, documentation, and oral communication skills.
* Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, including the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, and those authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer will be considered. The position is in the Sorrento Valley area of San Diego.
