JOB SUMMARY

The Environmental Compliance Manager oversees the Insect and Rodent Control, Water and Environmental

Management programs for all Trillium Farms locations. The Environmental Compliance Specialists (ECS)

report directly to this position. This position works closely with the Production Managers, Pullet Managers,

Business Unit Leaders, Quality Assurance Manager and other members of the Compliance Team. The

Environmental Compliance Manager has a direct responsibility to understand and guide the entire

operation in all federal, state and local regulations/standards from FDA, ODA, OEPA, ODNR and our

customers. Overall this manager is responsible for ensuring that activities carried out at the sites allow us

to be environmental stewards while ensuring the safety and well-being of our hens.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Manages, develops and implements all programs related to the pest control, water and the

environment including compliance with regulations and/or standards, including, but not limited to

those from FDA, ODA, OEPA, ODNR and our customers.

2. Ensures compliance programs and personnel meet Trillium's core values.

3. Manages, develops and is directly responsible for Environmental Compliance Specialists.

4. Works with the Compliance, Production and Pullet teams to ensure that compliance programs are

complete and enforced at all sites.

5. Coordinates the monitoring of and ensures that storage lagoons, storm water ponds, treatment

systems, drinking water systems, liquid and solid manure are properly monitored, stored and

handled according to applicable regulations and programs.

6. Monitors compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, and standards from UEP, AHC and

customers.

a. Conducts and/or coordinates bi-weekly barn walk inspections of sites for compliance with pest

control programs

b. Initiates, tracks and trends corrective actions from barn walks and other environmental issues.

c. Coordinates and prepares the corrective action follow up for customer, regulatory and third party

inspections of the farms.

d. Monitors the progress of the corrective actions for all audit deficiencies relating to environmental

programs.

7. Leads and coordinates activities related to the Recycled Nutrient Management Plan including those

activities directly carried out by the ECS, including;

a. Records associated with land application of recyclable nutrients generated at the facility.

b. Managing the storage and application of all waste and storm water generated from the site.

c. Ensuring all sampling activities required by the Environmental Management Plan are performed

according to schedule.

d. Ensuring all related equipment is properly maintained and monitored.

8. Leads coordination of manure removal from sites in accordance with ODA permits to operate.

9. Coordinates, prepares for and leads external audits pertaining to pest control and environmental

programs.

10. Responsible for handling and submitting all reports related to these programs.

11. Develops and coordinates employee training programs related to compliance, including train the

trainer workshops at each region.

12. Serves as lead contact for and responds to complaints received as they pertain to farm compliance.

13. Serves as lead contact for interactions and communications with local farmers, neighbors and the

community.

14. Maintains records in accordance with document control program.

15. Works with Senior Manager of Compliance to develop and continuously improve programs.

16. Performs all duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

• Experience managing teams and programs

• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to Environmental Management

• Licensed as a Pesticide Applicator by the State of Ohio (preferred) or the ability to obtain license

upon hire.

• Experience in maintaining farm equipment preferred

• Working knowledge of the poultry industry, with knowledge of state and federal regulations related

to poultry and/or egg production and environmental standards preferred

• Certified Water Operator within the state of Ohio (preferred).

• Ability to demonstrate results of "buy-in" and employee ownership of compliance programs.

• Skilled in performing internal on-site compliance inspections

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; organized, goal oriented and accountable;

bilingual (English/Spanish) is a definite plus.

• Strong computer skills with experience in Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe DC, etc.

• Able to work in various climate conditions including extreme heat and cold environments, walking,

standing and sitting for long periods of time.
