Kelly Science is excited to hire a molecular biology research assistant to focus on projects developing mRNA medicines specially formulated to instruct cells in the body to fight disease or repair damaged tissue.
This position will be in a startup environment and will offer tons of opportunity to work in different areas of R&D.
Title: Research Assistant
Location: Mountain View, CA
Job Description:
* Perform in vitro experiments to evaluate and optimize treatment protocol and efficacy
* Execute cell-based assays and techniques such as qPCR, ELISAs, imaging, immunocytochemistry, etc.
* Assist in vivo experiments assessing tissue delivery, functional assays and cell transplantation models
* Analyze resulting data, maintain records and prepare detailed reports for a variety of audiences
* Perform literature searches regarding state of the art for specified topics
* Help maintain lab operations and organization
* Coordinate with suppliers, collaborators and partners to advance projects
Qualifications
* Experience in in vitro and potentially in vivo work tissue handling, assays, data analysis etc.
* Specific background in dermatological or the other aforementioned indication areas would be preferred.
* The ability to work independently and with teams to accomplish goals.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Candidates must be able to follow written protocols, record observations in written or electronic form as required, and efficiently manage their time to support multiple ongoing studies
Education/Experience
* B.S. in biology or related discipline preferred
* At least 1-2 years of work experience in a laboratory environment preferred
* Google Suite and/or MSOffice skills Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Desirable
