Environmental Monitoring & Technologies, Inc. (EMT) is an environmental laboratory, providing our clients with quality testing services for 35 years. We specialize in analysis of water, wastewater, and soils for organic and inorganic compounds, as well as conducting field sampling services for a variety of regulatory programs. In an effort to prevent hazardous substances harmful to the environment from entering fresh water sources, EMT samples flows of water, wastewater, and storm water, for such harmful substances as lead, mercury, cyanide, and dozens of other organic and inorganic compounds.
Primary Purpose:
Environmental Technician will be trained to use, install, and service specialized equipment to sample and monitor industrial wastewater streams at manufacturing companies, food companies, hospitals, and landfills. These tasks will be done in a safe, ethical, and environmentally conscientious manner, providing value and customer satisfaction to EMT's clients.

Primary Purpose:

These tasks will be done in a safe, ethical, and environmentally conscientious manner, providing value and customer satisfaction to EMT's clients.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to client locations around the Chicagoland area according to daily schedule
- Install sampling and flow monitoring equipment in a timely and efficient way as to achieve the most possible representative sample
- Calibrate and troubleshoot flow monitoring and sampling equipment
- Document and collect accurate and defensible data
- Pick up and deliver samples to be analyzed in our laboratory
- Communicate effectively with the Field Manager, co-workers, project managers, and clients
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Field Manager
Qualifications:
- Must have a strong desire to be environmentally conscious and responsible.
- Must be able to lift/carry heavy equipment, coolers, etc. (up to 50 lbs.)
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Be able to work weekends (occasional) and overtime (frequently) when required
- Due to our clients' requirements for on-site access, background checks will be required
Training and Safety Requirements:
- Hazardous material, safety, and on the job training will be provided.
- Applicant must follow all safety procedures as instructed by Field Manager and client's requirements
