POSITION:
The Post-Doctoral Research Associate with PhD in biological sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering or related experience will be for fundamental research on pain in rodents. Prior experience with rodent sciatic nerve chronic constriction and/or transection surgery combined with relevant behavioral studies is preferred. The position requires participation in administrative duties related to proposed project: formatting and preparation of reports on data, management of laboratory supplies and workflow. Data analysis and manuscript preparation experience is preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with rodent experimental animals in surgical and behavioral studies.
Assesses tissue recovered from experimental animals and analyze by immunohistochemical (IHC) staining combined with conventional and confocal epi-fluorescence microscopy. Additional studies on the tissue transcriptome will include qPCR and RNAseq approaches.
Performs computational and statistical analysis of IHC and transcriptome data.
Prepares scientific reports and contribute to scientific manuscripts and presentations related to the project.
Supports graduate and undergraduate students in their research related to the assigned project.
