Are you a self-starter with a history of work in environmental compliance for private industry? We re seeking an innovative environmental professional who is passionate about growing workload centered around environmental compliance and consulting services to regional and national clients. Put your passion for improving the environment and effective listening skills to work and identify and implement solutions for growing a diverse client base. Success will be defined by your capability to capture, develop, and nurture client relationships.

On any given day, you ll:
  • Manage clients and lead business development to grow our private industrial compliance services. Success will be defined by the ability to generate work opportunities and manage these projects.
  • Project management duties for environmental compliance would include preparing plans, permits or reports for WPDES, air permits, NPDES, SWPPPs, SPCC, EPCRA Tier II and TRI/Form R Reporting, general compliance audits, hazardous waste management, or compliance monitoring under TSCA or CERCLA.
  • Help clients manage their businesses by performing EHS due diligence assessments regarding acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, property sales, and leases.
  • Develop environmental legal registers and calendars to support our clients understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Work with professional and technical staff on our environmental team to develop project deliverables.
  • Establish target markets/clients with management and other compliance team members to develop a program to establish relationships and build workload.
  • Contact clients, attend meetings, assist in project and client intelligence and strategies, and participate in trade show and client-related activities.
  • Provide technical guidance on environmental compliance, including on-site assistance as needed, prepare project proposals, attend project interviews, participate in presentations, negotiating hourly estimates, fee proposals, and contract documents.
  • Schedule and monitor project work to ensure successful completion and positive financial performance of each deliverable.
  • Work with project teams to effectively delegate assignments, and mentor junior staff members. Train the next generation of environmental leaders!

Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor s degree in environmental, industrial, or chemical engineering, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant environmental consulting experience in industrial environment in Wisconsin or nationally, and four years of project management experience.
  • An in-depth understanding of the relevant local, state and federal regulations and how they apply to specific industries and facilities.
  • Willingness to travel (some overnight stays) in and out of state.
  • A valid driver s license and good driving record.

Desired skills and experience:
  • Contacts with existing or previous private clients, client development capabilities, and registration in an applicable professional discipline, with a demonstrable track record of securing private sector project work.
  • A self-motivated, team-oriented individual with superior written and verbal skills.
  • Understanding and experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Be able to delegate and utilize junior staff effectively.
  • Well-connected with proven client development, project management, and staff supervision capabilities.
  • Have the ability to deal with ambiguity from clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Project experience in multiple environmental compliance areas such as:
  • Air Quality Permitting & Reporting
  • Air Dispersion Modeling
  • National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits
  • Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures plans
  • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans & Inspections
  • Tier 2 Hazardous Chemical Inventory reporting
  • Toxic Release Inventory reporting
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste Compliance
  • Environmental Site Assessments
  • Environmental Compliance Auditing
