Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Safety/Enviro/Training Coordinator will have responsibilities for leading our safety performance, ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local safety, occupational health and environmental regulations including OSHA and VPP. This position will also be responsible for conducting training, culture building, environmental and safety managment, participating in corporate initiatives, along with other duties as directed. In addition to these responsibilities, this individual will be responsible for collaborating with peer environmental and safety coordinators within our cold finish group for best marking and auditing.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior leadership or involvement with the Safety Teams/Safety Committee
- Two years related experience in an industrial setting (Safety or Environmental degree preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to be on call 24/7 and travel as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or an Associate Degree in a related discipline
- Experience as a Safety or Environmental Coordinator in an industrial environment
- Understanding of OSHA laws and regulations, industrial hygiene and testing affecting the industry.
- Experience with SharePoint, Intelex, DOT, ANSI Safety/Emergency services certification
- Worker's Compensation, OSHA and VPP experience a plus
