Role Overview

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager with more than 10 years of environmental experience to join our Austin, Texas office and become an integral member of our technical team. Key responsibilities will include providing field and office support on various projects for existing and new environmental/industrial/government clients. Wood PLC's Environment & Infrastructure Division is a multi-disciplined consulting organization primarily consisting of environmental scientists and engineers with offices throughout the United States.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Environmental Due Diligence, Environmental Remediation, and Environmental Compliance. The ideal candidate will also have federal, state, and local experience. Wood is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including environmental site assessments (ESAs), remedial investigations, groundwater monitoring programs, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

This person will be a member of a team providing primarily site investigation and remediation services to private industry and government clients. This position will support a wide variety of projects that include investigations, due diligence, environmental remediation, and environmental compliance. Some of the responsibilities of this position will include:

Managing scope, schedule, budgets, and resources for environmental projects
Initial planning, coordination, and execution of environmental tasks
Perform complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved technologies and procedures
Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others
Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed technical approaches, tests, products or equipment when necessary data are insufficient or confirmation by testing is advisable
Preparation of technical reports
Participate in the development of technical approach
Support the development and preparation of proposals

Skills / Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field
Knowledge of Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP), RCRA, CERCLA, and ASTM e1527
10+ years of environmental consulting experience in Texas
Experience as a project or task manager on various environment related projects including Phase I and II ESAs, subsurface investigations, and on-going remediation projects
Experience with various chemicals of concern, including chlorinated VOCs (PCE, TCE, cis-DCE, VC), hydrocarbons, and emerging contaminants
Experience reporting and conducting oversight of various field operations including soil borings, geotechnical sampling, monitoring well installation/sampling
Experience leading project teams
Experience interacting with and supervising subcontractors
Computer proficient (must have proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and excellent spreadsheet skills
Good verbal and inter-personal skills
Strong technical writing skills
Demonstrated verbal communication and technical presentation skills
Good time-management skills. Ability to focus and attention to detail
Must be organized and able to present verbal instructions clearly and concisely
Must be able to prepare plans and reports that are concise, simple and direct in conveying the needed information without confusion to the end user.
Team player and technical contributor
Able to operate within scope, schedule and budget during project implementation

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Geology or Environmental Engineering
State of Texas Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer
Knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal oil pollution prevention regulations
Prior experience on compliance projects in Texas
Experience working with state, federal or municipal agencies
Prior consulting experience
OSHA HAZWOPER Trained
