Job Summary:

If so, we are seeking a highly motivated Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) Coordinator with experience implementing ES&H requirements and working in a complex technical environment. You will play a key role as you help build a strong and healthy safety culture at the Labs. In this position, you are responsible for performing a variety of environmental, safety, and occupational health related functions.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor's degree in technical STEM or ES&H discipline, plus 2 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience that demonstrates the knowledge, ski and ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Experience recognizing, evaluating, and controlling hazards.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired):
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and adapt to changing deadlines and priorities.
- Master's degree in technical STEM or ES&H discipline.
- Professional certification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Certified Safety Professional).
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
- Previous experience as an ES&H professional.
- Familiarity with OSHA or other regulatory discipline.
- Accident investigation experience.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating root cause analyses.
- Lean six sigma, ISO, or equivalent quality experience.
- Previous experience at a Department of Energy or Research and Development facility.
Job Specifications:
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Assist management in implementing and assuring ES&H performance and compliance.
- Identify and analyze hazards and risks that may create an unsafe worksite.
- Develop, implement and communicate organization-specific ES&H policies, processes, hazard control and tools to help staff and management meet performance expectations.
- Perform technical analyses and advise management on practices to resolve ES&H performance and compliance issues.
- Conduct regular facility and work area walk-throughs and inspections.
- Review work plans and hazard controls to determine reliability and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans and strategies.
- Provide support during ES&H audits and assessments.
- Document and report customer concerns, findings, non-compliance issues corporate data systems an through appropriate channels.
- Cultivate effective communications and relations with organization leadership, ES&H organization, an ES&H Coordinator community.
- Participate in ES&H operations committees to address concerns and issues, share lessons learned an best practices, and develop corporate solutions and implementation plans.
- Make recommendations for development of policies, processes and tools that contribute to improved safety practices.
- Implement corporate safety initiatives and regulatory and policy updates.
- Support management with ES&H related events, occurrences or emergencies to ensure they are adequately investigated, tracked and corrected.
- Compile and analyze data from incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify causes or trends in support of investigations and ongoing prevention efforts.
