WHO WE ARE: BioMagnetic Solutions (BMS) is a highly innovative biotechnology company bringing novel cell selection products to the CAR-T cell & gene therapy marketplace. BMS manufactures novel ferrofluid nanoparticles that allow highly efficient cell selection and sorting. BMS' founders and principal scientists have years of experience using paramagnetic nanoparticles for sorting a variety of biomolecules. Gamma Biosciences, a life sciences platform of KKR, a world-leading investment firm, acquired BMS in February 2021.

WE ARE SEEKING an entry-level Cell Biologist research scientist to join our multi-disciplinary team. We focus on projects related to the selection of human cells that can be used as part of therapeutic interventions for patients suffering from a variety of different cancers.

LOCATION: BioMagnetic Solutions LLC is located on Research Drive in State College, PA

WHY THIS JOB IS IMPORTANT TO US:

The best candidate for this job would be expected to work independently under the guidance of BioMagnetic Solutions' Director of Research and Development. Candidate should have a B.S. degree in biological sciences, ideally with laboratory research experience. As the work is expected to support clinical developments, good writing skills, communication skills and an attention to detail are a MUST.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintenance of mammalian cell lines
  • Working with blood products to support the development of a variety of different cell selection technologies
  • Testing of immunomagnetic selection reagents
  • Must have laboratory research experience including, but not limited to:
  • Cell culture
  • Sterile techniques
  • Flow cytometry
  • Variety of different biochemical techniques
