Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, provides a full range of natural and cultural resource consulting services and is based in Gainesville, Va. The Davey Tree Expert Company has U.S. and Canadian operations in more than 47 states and five provinces and provides a variety of tree care, grounds maintenance and consulting services for the residential, utility, commercial, and government markets. Primary Duties:
- Construction inspection of wetland and stream restoration projects
- General maintenance and monitoring of wetland and stream mitigation sites
- Hydraulic dredging
- Invasive species control
- Groundwater well data collection and analysis
- Stormwater Facility Maintenance
- LID/LEED building and landscape maintenance
- Read and follow maps; navigate (in vehicle and on foot) through a variety of terrains
- Properly and safely drive, operate and maintain vehicle in a variety of terrains and surfaces (including ATVs and boats)
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or related field
- Knowledge of wetland ecology and plant identification
- Wetland and stream restoration experience
- Able to lift 50lbs over head
- Possess valid Driver's License
- Willingness to regularly travel regionally to support projects outside the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
- Ability to work safely and independently in the outdoors under a wide range of conditions and weather types
- Ability to work independently and with a team
Preferred:
- Equipment operation (Bobcat, Excavator, Marooka, etc.)
- ATV and Boater Safety
- Truck and trailer operation
- Knowledge of laser level operation
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Commercial Pesticide License
- ISA Certified Arborist
- DEQ Stormwater Inspector
- Professional Wetland Scientist or WPIT
