Job Details

Description

  • Complete construction inspections, erosion control monitoring, and environmental marking and staking
  • Assist with field data collection and wetland delineations
  • Gain knowledge of regulatory requirements and complete basic regulatory agency applications
  • Receive technical training for career enhancement
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • The employee must wear Personal Protective Equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
  • The work environment will include indoor and outdoor settings.
  • The employee must hike moderate distances through unimproved terrain, utility rights-of-way, in remote areas, etc.
  • The physical demands and work characteristics described here represent those that an employee must meet to successfully perform this job's essential functions.

Qualifications

Education
Required

Bachelors or better in Biology or related field.

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.

Bachelors or better in Environmental and Earth Science or related field.
Experience
Required

1-5 years of experience commensurate with environmental consulting practices with a background in environmental science, ecology, or construction inspection services.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Must have the ability to function well within a multi-disciplinary work team.

Work is expected to be approximately 90% field-based work and 10% office-based work. Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime.

Must be able to travel and work out of the office, including possible overnight trips. In-state travel is a requirement, and extended field assignments are possible. There may also be up to 15% out-of-state travel associated with this position on a project-specific basis or to assist other offices.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and use of GPS tools.

Preferred

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Knowledge and experience with erosion and sedimentation control monitoring and construction inspections on linear projects.

Basic familiarity with the use of GPS tools.
