Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking an environmental compliance technician to join our team. Ideal candidates will have a B.S. in Environmental Studies or related field and at least one year of experience performing environmental compliance in relation to Virginia Pollution Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) inspections and reporting. Job responsibilities will include inspections and reporting; Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) development; and coordinating with federal and state resource agencies with regard to wetlands, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater compliance.
Erosion and sediment control certifications are a plus, but not required (CPESC, CESSWI, CISEC, or Virginia DEQ Stormwater Management (SWM) and Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) Inspector training and certifications). Candidates should be organized individuals and possess outstanding communication skills. Daily tasks include coordinating with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding environmental concerns associated with development. Work will concentrate on environmental permit compliance and reporting for active construction sites. Weekend, holiday work, and out-of-town travel may be required at times and are considered within the realm of job responsibility.
