Our Environmental/Ecological Risk team in North Wales, PA is looking for an Ecological/Environmental Risk Assessor to join their group. This is a phenomenal chance to create an impact on the community in which we live.

In this role, you will be involved in conducting environmental risk assessments and natural resource damages assessments to support a variety of remediation and environmental projects. You will identify ecological risks and develop risk management strategies to support contaminated site decision-making under Federal, state, and international site cleanup programs.

These projects involve addressing waste material and soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water contamination; performing fate/transport and exposure modeling; statistical and spatial analysis; developing remediation/risk management plans; and providing technical support for multiple and diverse project teams.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Perform and lead ecological risk assessments (ERA) under multiple North American and/or International regulatory frameworks
  • Preform and lead natural resource damage assessments (NRDA)
  • Develop work plans and lead all aspects of field investigations to support ERA and NRDA
  • Analyze data and prepare reports, technical memoranda, and correspondence
  • Collaborate with environmental risk assessment scientists, engineers, and project managers throughout GHD
  • Communicate directly with external and internal clients and regulatory agencies throughout North America (and potentially internationally)
  • Manage multiple projects and support various project teams

For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD in Biology, Ecology, Ecotoxicology, Toxicology, Environmental Science, or related technical field
  • At least 5-10 years of experience with Ecological and Human Health Risk Assessment and/or Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA)
  • Strong quantitative skill and experience in data analysis and biostatistics
  • Willing and able to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technical writing abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects and tasks in a fast paced environment
