Description: Our client is currently seeking a Microbiologist / Biologist I
Description:

• Technician will be expected to work in clean laboratory environments, primarily with plant pathogens and occasionally with soil or plants. Familiarity with culturing fungi and bacteria in vitro required.
• Technician must know sterile technique, be comfortable working in growth chambers, and follow all procedures and SOPs. Duties include but are not limited to the inventory and processing of samples, culturing pathogens, using molecular methods and microscopy for diagnostics, operating and troubleshooting of equipment, and preparing media.
• Previous course work and/or lab experience in plant pathology desired but not necessary. Knowledge of molecular lab methods/technique preferred but not required. Proficiency with standard computer programs required. Candidate must have excellent organizational skills and work ethic, be detail-oriented, work in a fast-paced environment, and work both independently and on a team.
• Demonstration of self-motivation, flexibility, and reliability is required. Candidate will regularly work in environments that are either dusty, warm, or required to remain clean. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
