Job Scope & Purpose:

Our Cambridge based biotech client is a pioneer in bacterial systems for multiple therapeutic indications. They are looking for a detail-oriented candidate to join their team in quantitative biology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop novel tools for activity modeling, data visualization, and data interpretation to advance and improve therapeutic candidate selection. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively regarding the structure, assumptions, results, and implications of ISS models and strategize about potential improvements to the ISS approach. This role can be done remotely.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Construct mathematical models and corresponding human disease biology to facilitate a quantitative understanding of platform
  • Utilize data visualization and analysis techniques to generate insights on critical research questions and enable key product development milestones
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-documented code

Primary Job Requirements:
  • B.S./M.S. in chemical engineering, biological/biomedical engineering, systems biology, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline; NO PH.D's
  • Demonstrated experience building mechanistic models using material balances is required
    • Experience solving systems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) numerically.
    • Experience with multi-compartment kinetic modeling.
    • Proficiency with a scientific programming language is essential (Python preferred).
  • Experience with interactive data visualization/dashboarding (e.g., R Shiny) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail
