The Department of Cancer Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of cancer immunotherapy, phage display technology, protein biochemistry, cell culture techniques, molecular biology, immunology, flow cytometry analysis, cell sorting, CAR-T production technology, and animal models of cancer. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include establishment of antibody phage library from llamas and screening of potential tumor specific binding nanobodies and identify the relevant antigens. Developing and optimizing nanobody driven CAR T cells and evaluation of the resulting CAR-T cells on killing various types tumors in vitro and in vivo, using a wide range of approaches including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, and animal modes. Conducting CAR-T clinical trials.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, participate CAR-T clinical trials, familiarize with related literatures and experimental techniques, prepare manuscripts for publication and participate in grant writing and submission, present research findings in national and international meeting, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.
Candidate should have a minimum of 4-5 years postdoctoral experience and several high impact first author papers in molecular and cellular biology and cancer immunotherapy.
