AECOM has a position available for an Environmental Compliance Project Manager located in either Sacramento or Orange, California. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of engineers and scientists that are responsible for EHS compliance, reporting, permitting, safety compliance and environmental field sampling/monitoring in California. The role includes the opportunity to work on large national / international private and public sector clients across the United States.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Successfully execute environmental permitting and compliance projects while meeting cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives
- Execute and manage projects involving SPCC, stormwater, NPDES, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, EMS, air quality and other environmental regulatory compliance services including regulatory research, compliance planning and auditing, creating spreadsheets, and compiling and writing reports and other documents
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations. Draft corrective actions to prevent incident reoccurrences
- Create and submit state and federal environmental reports
- Provide recommendations and develop innovative solutions to compliance issues
- Conduct environmental due diligence assessments (Phase I and II)
- Conduct health and safety assessments
- Collaborate with project teams to develop work programs designed to provide innovative and progressive project solutions for compliance issues
- Regular travel is required to client sites as necessary
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients to enhance client retention and growth
- All aspects of project management, including preparation of scope and cost estimates, financial and budgetary management, resource allocation and scheduling, health and safety management and engagement of subcontractors
- Effective verbal and written communication, liaison and management of clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, vendors, and analytical laboratories
- Supervise, provide safety leadership, and mentor/ develop junior staff
- Marketing, proposal writing and bringing in new work and clients as well as supporting existing projects and clients.

Minimum Requirements
- BA / BS degree and 4+ years of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience in Environmental Due Diligence Phase I audits
- Experience must also include one or more of the following:
- Familiar with Spill Prevention
- Control and Countermeasures (SPCC),
- Resource Recovery Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA),
- Hazardous Materials Business Plans (HMBP),
- Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA),
- Clean Water Act (CWA),
- Clean Air Act (CAA),
- Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and UST/AST systems
- Understanding of California and Federal environmental regulations and experience with local state, county, and city agencies in California
- Valid US Driver's License and pre-employment driving record verification is required
- Travel is required in and around the state of California and the region (up to 25%/month)
- Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering is preferred
- 8+ years of project management experience is desired
- Knowledge of Cal-OSHA safety standards
- Certified as a Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP), Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD), Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), and/or a Certified Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI) is a plus
- Certified Project Manager is a plus
- Professional Engineer is a plus
