Environmental Technician - Austin, New Braunfels, TX area Trihydro, one of the top environmental and engineering consulting firms in the country, has an opening for an Environmental Technician. The Technician will assist with providing Trihydro's clients and customers with effective, responsive, and safe solutions. As a member of our team, you will support our diverse range of clients, from Fortune 100 companies to the federal government, to local communities nationwide to continuously improve human health and the environment. In your role as an Environmental Technician, you will support our team by conducting various types of fieldwork, a critical component to our client services. Fieldwork may include: site supervision/safety lead tasks, the operation and maintenance of remediation systems, collection of soil/groundwater/air/vapor samples for laboratory analysis, emergency response oversight, remediation/excavation oversight, waste management, underground storage tank (UST) removal management, soil boring/well installation, construction oversight, etc. Remediation system operation and maintenance tasks may include: pump maintenance, effluent and groundwater sample collection, manual fluid extraction from groundwater wells, hose and fitting replacements, system component repair and replacements, system evaluations, electronic data downloads, system evaluation and optimization, and stormwater best management practice (BMP) implementation and monitoring. The preferred candidate will be based in the Austin or New Braunfels TX area. The job is designed to be as much as 80 to 95% in the field, but there will likely be times when you are in the office preparing for field events, compiling field data, and assisting the Project Manager with project tasks. Our team is looking for someone who has:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail and accuracy, as well as a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
- Basic piping and electrical experience
- 3-10 years of relevant experience
- Direct industry employment history within an industrial setting, or a related field
- A clean driving record
This position requires the following:
- A demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
- Acceptable written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team members
- Initiative and motivation, with an emphasis on completing project deliverables on schedule
- Dependability, with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Ability to travel to other regional client sites, as needed
