About this role:
Brunel has an exciting opportunity for a Environmental Manager working with our client who are a large mining company located in Carlin, Nevada.
- Actively manage all environmental programs and compliance for open pit and underground mining operations, including overseeing the collection of data necessary to ensure the accurate and timely environmental reporting to site management and regulatory agencies;
- Communicate with all departments and government agencies, at local, state and federal level, on environmental compliance matters;
- Manage all key environmental aspects related to water, waste (non-hazardous and hazardous), air quality, lands (public and private), and reclamation/closure;
- Oversee the preparation of environmental reports and other technical documents that are submitted to local, state and federal regulatory agencies
- Liaise and coordinate with the Corporate permitting team to ensure that Operational perspectives are taken into consideration during large scale permitting activities;
- Track permit renewals, regulatory proposals and pending legislation;
- Develop and manage the environmental department budget;
- Coach and mentor environmental department personnel to aid in professional development of skill sets
What you need to bring:
What you need to bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology or Geology required
- Minimum of ten (10) years demonstrated environmental experience required
- Minimum five (5) years mining experience (open pit and underground operations) required
- Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience required
- Experience working on public land required
- Experience in engaging with U.S. agencies preferred
