Golder has a new opportunity for an Environmental Scientist to join our Atlanta, Georgia team on a full-time basis.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Validation of environmental analytical data in accordance with USEPA, Regional, and state-specific data validation guidelines to ensure data quality objectives are met
- Preparation of data validation narratives, data usability reports, and quality assurance project plans (QAPPs)
- Coordination of environmental laboratory services and field sampling events
- Management and reporting of environmental analytical data and geo-environmental data through multiple software platforms
- Review and evaluate laboratory and field data and assemble in written reports
- Participation in occasional field investigations and collection of environmental samples
- Additional duties may be assigned
The successful candidate will have a background in:
- B.S. Chemistry/Environmental Science or similar field
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in environmental consulting or laboratory analytical chemistry
- Detail-oriented and must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and interface with multiple project managers
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary groups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with USEPA analytical methods and USEPA data validation guidelines
- Knowledge of organic and inorganic chemical analyses
- Experience with analytical database management using Microsoft Access, EQuIS, and GIS programs. Experience with SQL/VBA desired.
- Fluency in office productivity software such as Microsoft Word and Excel required
- Commitment to working safely and adhering to all health and safety protocols
- Occasional overnight field work assignments
Preferred:
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training is preferred
