Team Lead

We are currently seeking Team Leads to join our team. Under the direction of ECI's Program Supervisor, the Team Lead acts in support of a supervisor and/or team of consulting utility foresters (CUFs) to achieve client/utility specific goals. The position is focused on providing field supervision for programs with heavier workloads (Emergent/Capital), work planning and inspecting duties.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Day to day oversight for 5-8 field employees.
- Contribute to a safe work environment for team members.
- Demonstrate commitment to ECI's Vision, Mission, Values, and Principles.
- Monitor work quality and production rates of field personnel and communicate.
- Assign circuits and/or redirect duties as needed to meet client goals.
- Assess and document overall performance and ongoing developmental needs of field personnel to assist with performance reviews.
- Participate in routine conference calls with management, provide updates related to production, safety, work quality, auditing, and staffing.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in forestry, natural resources or related discipline and 1-2 years of utility or green industry experience or 3+ years of related experience without a degree.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Independent decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong working knowledge or practical experience in all aspects of integrated vegetation management in the utility field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to represent n ECI and its services in a professional and positive manner.
- Strong knowledge of & experience in common computer applications, with ability to learn new programs.
- Ability to accurately read maps and judge spatial distances.
- Knowledge or practical experience in tree identification.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:
- ISA Arborist Certification required or the ability to earn within 12 months preferred.
- Prior experience with GIS technology/software a plus.
- Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Working Environment
Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions. Physical
The team member must have sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk up to 10 miles per day, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand, arm and shoulder movement in the performance of daily duties (e.g., forcefully beat down brush); carry, push and/or pull light to heavy amounts of weight, frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. (sandbags); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with public; ability to see and hear in normal range with or without correction; operate assigned field equipment, including handheld computer, range finder, fyrake, water backpack, shovel, and traffic cone.
