This position works with the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to plan, direct, and implement Cantel Medical's environmental, health, and safety programs across the Dental segment operations in New York and Pennsylvania. The position will have initial emphasis on ensuring employee safety for manufacturing equipment, including machinery transferred between facilities. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read, interpret, and apply regulations and industry standards. The position may interface with all levels of company employees, vendors, and regulatory agencies as needed.

  • Provide guidance with the day to day implementation of EHS programs while serving as a resource for employee and business questions.
  • Gather data and complete technical reports in support of required safety compliance initiatives for corporate metrics as well as OSHA compliance programs such as machinery safeguarding and control of hazardous energy (LOTO).
  • Develop and coordinate documentation for EHS procedures, programs, and guidance documents.
  • Facilitate EHS training activities as necessary, including training development and presentations.
  • Lead safety incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action identification, and follow through for documentation in online incident reporting system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Required 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing environment. Preferred Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Physical Sciences, Engineering, EHS, or related field.
  • Preferred experience with design of machine safeguarding, equipment inspections, and electrical safety.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of environmental, health, and safety regulations, and industry standards; specifically, OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, together with strong organizational skills, prioritization and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to adapt to setbacks, adversity and diversity.
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Work cross functionally to fully engage employees, contractors and vendors into EHS programs, expectations, and requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • This position may involve exposure to moving machinery, lift trucks, UV light, biohazards, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel and/or stand for extended periods of time. #CB
