About UC Blue Ash

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a high performing, well organized Lab Associate in our Biology Department. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio offering primarily associate degrees, with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students.

Job Overview

Provide support activities for the teaching needs of designated laboratories and to administer the daily operational policies of the laboratories. Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Lab Associate will provide support materials and activities for the teaching needs of the Biology and Anatomy & Physiology labs, including: preparing solutions, providing lab supplies, setting up anatomical models, maintaining laboratory facilities, and administering the daily operational policies of the laboratories as instructed by the Lab Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise, train, assist and/or instruct faculty and students using laboratory facilities.
  • Monitor activities within designated laboratories.
  • Maintain all laboratory equipment, including ordering of supplies; perform repair work, and schedule professional repair.
  • Assist faculty on project feasibility and design.
  • Administer safety programs.
  • Act as liaison with local industry regarding specifications and availability of new and used laboratory equipment.
  • Recommend space and equipment assignments as requested and resolve any conflicts for space and equipment.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.


Required Education

  • Associate's Degree in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.


Required Experience

One (1) year of experience in an area of technical specialty.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
