Sands Capital is currently looking for an Environmental, Social, and Governance ("ESG") Analyst to join our Investment Team. The primary function of this position is to generate both business-specific and thematic research in coordination with the other members of the Investment Team. Our ESG research focuses on identifying material risks and opportunities for owned and potential portfolio business. The Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with our fundamental analysts to identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities by leveraging the Analyst's ESG expertise and business model expertise.

  • Identify and research material ESG factors in the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the lead Research Analyst responsible for each portfolio business to deepen his/her understanding of material issues that are pertinent to the investment case.
  • Create and evaluate cross portfolio analysis of specific ESG factors (e.g. board structure, compensation levels, compensation structure, etc.) to identify areas for potential engagement.
  • Write-up research on these factors in coordination with the Research Analysts.
  • Create client-facing commentaries on our ESG research analysis.
  • Update Portfolio Management teams on material ESG risks and opportunities in their portfolios.
  • Synthesize large amounts of data into concise, decision-useful information for Portfolio Managers and Analysts.

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, a related field or foreign equivalent.
  • 5 years of relevant Investment industry experience;
  • Experience in equity and ESG research;
  • Experience in global research; experience with ESG/sustainability/corporate governance; Familiarity with common ESG frameworks (SASB, TCFD, etc.) and ratings agencies (MSCI, Sustainalytics, others); and
  • Knowledge of proxy voting practices.
  • Exhibits behaviors concistent with Sands Capital's mission, values, and culture
